Founded in 2005, Hed Salon was born out of a desire for room to breathe. “The stylists here were looking for one thing, to be able to work back to back without bumping into each other when they stepped back!” says Marie-Pier Viens, who has been managing the salon since early 2014. That desire for space, comfort and a better ability for each stylist and client to develop an intimate and responsive connection is what first drew Marie-Pier to the salon as a customer.
“My colourist was here and introduced me to the place. What always struck me was the level of comfort you develop,” she says. “Each stylist has the space to work with and focus on their clients, and I would argue that the assistants here are the best in the world!” she says. “They work tirelessly to keep the space clean, tidy, organized, and to ensure that our clients get the best and full service they can, including handing out tea, coffee, or anything to put them at ease while they wait.”
